The Bertozzi Casoni Museum
08 Genuary 2018
The permanent exhibition that brings together works, also of large dimensions, by Giampaolo Bertozzi & Stefano Dal Monte Casoni, two internationally renowned artists who have always used ceramic material as an expressive medium for sculpture, is open to the public.
The collection is housed on the ground floor of the Cavallerizza Ducale in Sassuolo, a building which has been renovated thanks to the contribution of Engineer Franco Stefani and Studio Pincelli.
The event, promoted by System Group in the person of its President, Franco Stefani, offers the public, for the first time, the opportunity to admire a selection of the most important works of the two masters in contemporary ceramic sculpture.
Bertozzi & Casoni is a company founded in 1980 in Imola by Giampaolo Bertozzi (Borgo Tossignano, Bologna, 1957) and Stefano Dal Monte Casoni (Lugo di Romagna, Ravenna, 1961).
In a style somewhere between compositional surrealism and formal hyperrealism, Bertozzi & Casoni have been exploring the waste (including cultural and artistic waste) produced by contemporary society for some years, producing works in which fantastic images and precise techniques, figuration and abstraction, history and contemporaneity, degradation and beauty, all play a part.
The exhibition is open to the public from January to March 2018, Friday to Sunday from 15.00 to 19.30
